The air fryer makes this rotisserie-style chicken, so the skin is crispy and the meat is rich and juicy.
INGREDIENT
– 4 teaspoons fine sea salt– 2 teaspoons paprika– 1 teaspoon onion powder– 1 teaspoon dried thyme– 1 teaspoon white pepper– ½ teaspoon black pepper– ½ teaspoon garlic powder– ½ teaspoon dried oregano, marjoram, and/or rosemary optional– ¼ to ½ teaspoon cayenne pepper– 2 cloves garlic finely minced– 3-4 tablespoons olive oil– 2 tablespoons red wine vinegar– 1 whole chicken, giblets removed 4-5

INSTRUCTION
Mix spices, garlic, oil, and vinegar in a small bowl. Set aside. Preheat air fryer to 380ºF for 5-10 minutes before frying chicken.

Butcher's thread binds chicken for even cooking and crispier skin. Trussing chicken legs is harder than using butcher's string for air fryer entry and exit.

Step 2
Rub 80% spice mixture on both sides after trussing turkey. Reserve seasoning. Oil the air fryer basket bottom after heating. Place the chicken breast-side down in the basket.

Air-fried at 380ºF for 30 minutes. Turn the chicken breast-side up. Apply reserved seasoning. Continue cooking at 380ºF for 20-30 minutes or until 165ºF on an instant-read thermometer.

Chicken on sheet pan wire rack. Rest 10 minutes before carving and serving.
